This past Saturday I met up with Digger Don and Noah (Tim) for a day of detecting. We all had some decent finds on a very windy day.
Yes, we did detect this 1850s yard, but apparently it had been pounded previously.

Here is my take for the day:
1891 Indian Head
1914 Buffalo
1917 Buffalo
1939 Jefferson
1948 Jefferson
1940 Merc
1943 Merc
1944 Merc

Eighteen Wheat Cents including someone's lucky 1928 penny that is holed.

A few relics of limited interest. I think the button is probably old but I can't make out what it says on the back. It has a floral pattern on the front.

Lots of junk!

As always, it was a lot of fun detecting with Don and Tim even if they both out-hunted me! :envious:

Nice group of keepers Tony! Is that a Winnie the pooh pin? What's with the upside down pic? An homage to Noah? Lol.

 I hadn't even noticed the upside down pic. It's fixed now.
I'm not sure who's playing the banjo. Probably not Winnie the Pooh with that long tail. Might be a cat?

Nice hunting Tony! Still making good finds in a pounded yard is certainly an accomplishment. Noticed your IH is the same year as the last one I found. Nice job!

Nice hunting Tony. It was nice of you to let the other two out hunt you...:). It's been so long since I got myself a nickle, congrats on all of yours. Some silvers and an IHP to top off the keepers....:thumbsup02:

WOW, why do you think it was previously pounded...they cherry picked much of the silver? So many wheats :shocked03:

To clarify, the yard in the photo only produced a single Mercury Dime. All of the other finds came from other yards.
Tony you got a nice variety of finds! I was like, how's? Than I saw your trash pile LOL! Goes to show you miss a lot when you cherry pick for coin signals only. I've got to change my ways a bit I think. Anyways it was great you could join in on the Saturday fun. :)

How'd you know I pick a banjo?

Nice picks. Kudos for including the Jefferson nickels (often forgotten ) lol. I found that exact makeup compact a few years ago.

Whenever you guys meet up lots of great things are found! Congrats on the silvers and other finds. It would be hard to pass up a house like that one in the pic...too bad you guys were not the first ones to hit it.

What a nice load of older coins Tony! Man, that's a lot of wheaties! Any uncommon dates or S's, D's? The button is definitely mid-1800s era being a 1 piece. Quite early for your area.

Congrats on all your cool finds Tony. 18 wheats, Wow I only dug 5. I always have fun when we get together, it's always a good day.
I don't think you realized how close that branch came to hitting you, one step back and it could have been painful for sure!!!
Anyway, Congrats on a productive & windy hunt!

I always check them. The scarcest of this bunch was a 1933 D.
