I do not know what to say. I was at the park where I found the Real earlier this spring. I came across a wheatie signal in the woods and popped out a small silver. I knew immediately it was a half dime and when I saw the back with the eagle I knew it was a capped bust. The front was completely caked in dirt.
Now the hard part...I have to do my work as my little coin stares at me on my laptop.

And isn't she a beauty?!!! :wow:
That one was virtually brand new when it was dropped! Such amazing detail! Capped Bust silver is such a scarce find. I would be smiling for a week!
I can't but notice that the 8 looks to be filled in on the obverse. Might be some kind of mint error.
Huge congrats on the monumental find! AMAZING!

I saw the same thing. I think the die may have broke and the 8 is a bit messed up because of that? I think die issues were fairly common back in those days.

I dont know what to say either! :shocked05:
Man, I dont know how your able to hunt at lunch and then go back to work and expect to concentrate?
I had a 10 hr. drive ahead of me after finding my last CB in mid state New York. I kept it on my armrest in my truck for the ride home. About every mile or less I had to take my eyes off the road to admire it some more! :smitten:
Most of been hard getting back on task after lunch!
Did you get anything accomplished?
Great find Jared!
Congrats!

Here are a couple clear pics of this coin. I am seriously thinking that I might send it in to get graded.
I particularly like the detail on the talons.

Awesome coin! Congrats. The detail is very good and the cud error on the 8 adds some value too. If you send it in for grading don't mention it's a dug coin. You might be able to avoid the "environmental damage" label. HH and keep us posted if you do send it in. Dave.
