Hi everyone, This morning started very pleasantly...sunny, normal humidity...then all heck broke lose a few hours later. 150% humidity moved in, then buckets of rain as I got back to my car. A few towns north of me had a tornado! :shocked04:
I started at a park that I've been hitting and found everything but the copper. The sash buckle was DEEP! The small ring sure looks silver but doesn't have markings.
At first I thought the copper was my first baby faced Vermont but it seems smaller and not as bulbous headed as the Vermont (that poor baby on the Vermont had issues :shocked02:). Then I thought the interstellar space beings could have left it like the monolith in "2001 A Space Odyssey." It looks just like the baby at the end. Any help IDing it would be appreciated!

Interesting coin! I've never seen that bust before. I hope you get a positive ID. HH, Dave.

That was a nasty front that came through today Drew. That is an odd forehead on that copper. Maybe a nova eborac ??

Thank you, Dave! Thanks for the tip, Jeff....it certainly could be a new york...I haven't been able to find a match. The vermonts are 27mm and so are the CTs, like this one-

That might be it Drew. There certainly are some CTs and Machin's Mills with funky heads.
I see an over all smaller head or bust compared to the size of the coin similar to how king George Ist coins are from 1714 to 1724 got any other George the 1st coins to compare with the size Drew ?

This isn't horseshoes or hand grenades Drew. "Close enough" just doesn't cut it. I won't be able to sleep until you explain where the 2 missing mms are. ;)

 @ Jeff! HEY....DAN NAILED IT! Ironpatch also saw it and found the exact match! It's a George I halfpenny 1719-1724.
Thank you, Dan!! (Coincidentally, I found that comparison KG1 the day you found that silver child's buckle.)

Been watching this thread to see if that coin would get ID'd. Glad you found out what it is and Jeff can now sleep.
