Another Saturday Hunt / Big Silver Ring

Digger Don

Noah and I went to a town that we have never been to before. We spent most of the day there with very little to show for it.
After hitting several houses, all I was able to find was a 1942 merc and an 1893 V nickel along with a few wheats.

We decided to hit a very small town about 15 miles away. We got permission at a house that has been detected by a metal detector dealer and his brother. The home owner said they hit it twice about 10 years ago.
Well, they missed a few!! I dug 2 Indians, some kind of military rifle pin ( I think ). If any one knows what it is, I would appreciate some info. Thanks!

Then I got a screaming 11-48 at about 6 inches. I dug the plug and pulled out a very cool horse head sterling ring.

Wow Don, that's a big chunk of silver ring! Great find for sure. 12-48, must have thought you had a case of beer cans there! That rifle pin is really cool. Looks like WW1 styling to me.

Very interesting finds this week, Don! I couldn't find that badge after a quick search...hope someone can ID it.

"all I was able to find was a 1942 merc and an 1893 V nickel along with a few wheats" :) That would be a pretty good hunt right there...you have high standards:lol: Congrats!:thumbsup02:

We do have very high standards LOL. Must say I was very jealous of the ring! A lot worse over there than my tiny little coin.:hystericallaugh:
