View Full Version : Found a “little” silver at least

1884 10 Ore from Norway popped out of a former congressman‘s yard. Don ya always pick the best town, lol. Actually the town was beat long ago I think but fortunately they left this tiny sliver of the past. Thought I had play money or a trime. Anyway the Indian came from another town, two from a hunted out yard supposedly. Homeowner said it was twice hit by two brothers 15 years ago who were metal detector dealers. Glad they left a couple green beauties for me. Happy hunting. Maybe somebody can fix my pictures so Don doesn’t get mad at me for them being sideways LOL!

You always nail those Indians! But 1800s silver is always a great find. Well done!

Great little silver! Is that a silver ring hiding in one of the pics?
The Etrac is what got me tuned in to find Indians. Yes, the ring in the picture is silver and it was the only thing found in another yard we tried. Wait for Don's ring cus you're going to pass out!

That's a tiny bit of silver for sure! I bet it rang up like an indian head cent too. I never hunted that town you went to. Seems like the smaller towns are where to good stuff can still be found. HH, Dave.

I can't believe any government would make coins that small, but good for detectorists since they're easy to lose.
It was a very bouncy signal but when I finally locked in it it range up as 12–30 a few times, occasionally giving me a high pitch. A target like that I would rarely have worked so hard to lock in on but there was very little else in the yard. It gave me 1-36 quite a few times as well making me think it was gonna be junk. Had a few other signals before it that were junk LOL. Glad I dug what did turn out to be a very pretty coin. :)
My thoughts exactly. I don't find very many tiny coins like that but I'm sure they are out there because they are definitely easy to lose!
