6442564426644276442864429I met up with Steve(Noxman) yesterday and took a trip to an old ballfield and school I've had some success at before. After an epic 6 hour hunt, both of us were hurting but came away with a few keepers. Steve had the better day with an undated large cent, an undated IHP, a sterling earring and a 1942 Washington quarter. I got a 1890 V-nickel (which I soaked in Worcestershire overnight), 3 wheats and $6.50 in clad(almost paid for the 6-pack I got on the way home lol)! I went out by myself today to a park Steve killed a few weeks ago where he found 4 Barber dimes, a Merc, an SLQ, 4 Indians and 10 wheats. He was kind enough to leave me a 1916 Merc (no D), an 1898 IHP and a 1916 Buff. So far at this park between us we've found 7 silver coins with the newest one a 1919 Merc! Go figure. And hey,Aloldstuff, I found a buckle about a foot deep! Since I switched programs and went to a single frequency on the V3i those coins are popping out of the pounded areas. Thanks for the tip Al, don't want to be accused of being an amateur anymore :hystericallaugh:

Nice finds guys - that Merc is a dandy. A little salt and vinegar would clean those nickels up nicely. WD
