Field hunt, crotal and ID help please.

I got out yesterday to the field I found the 1919 buffalo at and finally found my second whole crotal!
I also found the usual junk, a nice piece of float copper, and an item I can't identify.

Nice! Try as I may, I cannot find a full bell. Good hit on the float copper too. Got to be some copper artifacts waiting to be found. The whatzit looks like a swivel to something. Maybe a trap chain or horse hardware ??

Crotals are super rare!! Kinda weird Jeff hasn't found one yet. :shocked04: You think you know a guy :lol:
Like Al, I also have some of those thingies, but have no idea what they are.
Chris, that field looks JUST LIKE one of my fields. Next time I'm there I'll take a pic. There're usually deer right in that corner. Big congrats on a super find!!:congrats:

Drew, can't believe Jeff hasn't found one either! But now my crotal bell count matches my LC count at 2. Really need to find more of each! :)

don't know how big that what is it is, but it reminds me of a double clevis, to attached to log chains together with bolts..

Nice finds man! I must say, Drew and Jeff have me beat a number of times over on colonial coppers, but I may have them on the crotals with 14 whole ones. I wonder if the mystery item was some sort of stopper mechanism to an old bottle...or a swivel as others suggest. I don't by the way, have one of those!
