I got out to a field today that I've been detecting for a week. We call it the button field for good reason as we always dig lots of buttons there. Today was no exception as I dug about 6 buttons and a LC while there for two hours. One button today was special Dan says 1820 or earlier. I like it very much. Thanks for looking HHunting

Huge Congrats on the button Todd and again thanks for the invite .

Nice going , is that button made of lead ?

George it looks like lead but actually its a real heavy silver plating , sometimes when the light hits it just right it can look like oxidized lead .

That's a pretty nice button, Todd. Sweet find. I heard that the NY militia had 7 forts along the CT river, up through VT/NH. The belt plate I dug a while back was estimated 1830-1840.

WoW congrats on that button Todd! I've been digging in New York for over 10 years and still haven't found a button or anything for that matter with "Excelsior" on it. :notworthy:
