Stumbled on Bottle Dump

I came across a bottle dump this AM. No apparent cellar hole nearby but a current house about .5 mile away. These bottles were just sitting on the surface. I'll start digging down when I go back. One bottle is embossed "blueing" and it still has the dye in it!

That will be fun Drew. I know nothing about collecting bottles but some are very collectable and I am amazed at the $$$ they can fetch.

Thanks guys! I went back this AM for an hour and grabbed these-

Wow, these are wonderful old bottles, Drew! It's unusual to find them unbroken. Any ideas on age? I would guess early 1900s.

I bet there are more there!

Thanks Tony! Yeah, I was guessing turn of the century. I haven't looked at a dating site yet. I hope there are more, I've only scratched the surface (literally). Yesterday's were ON the surface, today's were half buried, just below the debris.

I see a Davis bottle and a ringneck medicine type , looks to be 1890's to 1910 era for most of them bottles Drew , but keep at it you might snag an older pontil type .

Thanks, Dan! I'm hoping they get older as I start to dig. It seems to be a very small dump, everything is in a 10x10 area. Lots of shards and cans too.

Nice finds Drew! I had that happen to me a few years ago & filled up my backpack with them. Weighed a ton and took longer to get back to my car. Definitely early 1900's.

Drew, some interesting bottles. Hope that there are many more buried (and intact). Interesting top on your last picture.
