June 6th 1944 , 73 years ago today the greatest generation in our lifetime time embarked on an important mission to liberate millions of people ! Their selfless sacrifice , perseverance and bloodshed brought about peace to Europe !

Can you just imagine being on one of those landing craft that day? You knew that it might be your last day.

The courage level is off the charts for these men ! Failure wasn't an option , if they didn't capture the beach head the invasion would never of been possible !
 
That's when you say, screw it, if this is my last day then I'm going to take as many of them with me as I can.
 
I always loved General Patton's famous speech where he said "...No one ever won a war by giving their life for their country. Your job is to make that other poor bastard give his life for his country."
