Finally no aluminum can

It has been awhile since I posted on the board. Haven't been out much in the last year, but finally got out a few weekends ago for a few hours. I went to an old house site and got enough junk to fill my pouch. It was like there was a contest for cutting off the bottoms and tops of aluminum cans back in the 1950s. I dug 8 tops/bottoms of aluminum cans along with about 10 full cans. Finally get a tighter signal and I am thinking clad dime near the surface. Barber half on it's side about 5 inches down. It is the only coin I found all day. No clad, nothing else but junk. She isn't the prettiest, but she looks better out of the ground. 1904 O.

Wow! Huge congrats on the Barber Half! Is that your first one? Those don't turn up too often. Way better than an aluminum can any day!

Good to see a post from you, Badger.

:congrats:

Awesome find, still have that one on my bucket list yet too. Have a few sites I hunt with tons of tops and bottoms. I this k they were stefl cams with aluminum at the ends. The steel rusts away quickly in the dirt but the aluminum is ageless just like pulltabs.

Thanks everyone. Funny thing is that I have now found a walking liberty half (last year), Barber half this year, but I have yet to find a Buffalo nickel (Dug over 100 Jeffersons and 1 V nickel), haven't found a silver quarter of any kind (in recent years).

Not complaining. Will take half dollars all day long.

Very nice find! Makes it worth it after all that can slaw. If someone told me I'd dig ten cans and then a Barber Half I'd take that every time.
