CT copper and hatchet

Got out this afternoon for a couple of hours to see what I could wrangle from the iron belt around one of my old cellar hole sites. The swinging wasn't easy but I did manage to get a toasty CT copper.

Reverse is toast but I can make out the AUCTORI CONNEC: on the obverse.

Also dug the little hatchet type tool:

The butt end has a broken spikey looking thing.

The closest thing that resembled it that I could find was a "milkman's" hatchet for cutting blocks of ice ???

Good luck to all in 2017!

Grats on scoring a CT, Jeff. The woods are still diggable. The old road was partially frozen with ice on top, with areas that were muddy. Heck, even a yard was fine on Saturday. I have to get pics of those.

Thanks Gents. Yep, it was good just to get out and good to dig a couple of keepers. I think I will add that little hatchet to the "electrolysis" pile of iron waiting to be cleaned.
