Got out to the field again today and got some nice items.
The 1st good hit was the dandy button with some fancy on it.
Next up was a temperance token (coin?). Looked it up on Google and its 1887. It says on the front:
BEAUTIFUL WATER MY BEVERAGE SHALL BE In the center it has a picture of a fountain.
The other side says:
TIS HERE WE PLEDGE PERPETUAL HATE TO ALL WHO CAN INTOXICATE.
Another item recovered is what i think to be a very small item which something would be poured from???
Sort of like gunpowder after its been measured (weighed)
The last item is part of a buckle I think.
Thanks for reading and HH everyone.
Got myself a new laptop and I seem to be having some issues with pictures.

I feel your frustration Al.
I recently figured out how to file and upload pictures on my new laptop. Like you it was not the uploading of pictures so much as it was a matter of where did they go when I saved them after an edit. I say new but really it has been a while since I first turned the laptop on. I received it from Santa Clause last December.
Keep at it. They are in there somewhere and you know it will be easy once you know how.

Went back to Staples and they were very helpful. Got home and practiced the process several times. Hopefully i got it down pat.
Hey Al , what do you think the metal composition of the temperance token is?? it looks sort of greyish in the picture , The other mystery item almost resembles a broken drawer pull toggle .

Dan, pretty sure that it is brass as I see no silver coloring whatsoever. It didn't ring up very high on the VDI scale....30-35.
Also not magnetic. Thanks for that drawer pull ID.

Drew, Your question about only one year.....I don't know. The google search I did showed Stearns of NY(?) A person could buy them for ten cent each or a dozen for a dollar.

Fantastic Al! Tokens are always great finds and the temperance tokens represent an interesting part of our history. There was a big movement in Vermont during the same time - hopefully I can find one as nice as yours someday!
