hiking trail silver

Was able to get out today -- first site was the location of an old baseball field that kept giving up pre '65 memorials :bangahead01: :bangahead01: for the better part of the morning, and with the weather 95 and frustrating I decided to move on to cooler pastures.

2nd site was an old homesite in the woods, nothing much left of it but telltale vegetation -- the fish weren't biting there either, so I decided to call it a day.

Just casually swinging along the trail out of the woods, hit an SLQ :happydance01: at about 1 inch (boy was I surprised), then about 15 minutes later on the trail, hit the merc at 2 inches -- a beat 1916, no mintmark  Also pulled a wheatie along the trail.

Better to be lucky than good I guess. The trail was the old road, rocky and such, so the stuff isn't sinking. I was just walking normally and swinging casually -- when I have more time I'll make a day of it and do some careful scans along that trail.

Also pulled a thingamajig and a whatchamacallit (they are about 2 inches tall).

Nice Quarter Randy :happydance01: One good thing is that trail has never been detected before :clapping: That means it's yours for the taking lol Good score on the silvers!

The Thingamajig looks like the top of a lamp. The watchamacallit looks really cool. Congrats on the Silver!!!!!!! :happydance01:

Nice coins. The 1916 Mercury dimes sure do give you an adrenaline boost when found, at least thats what I heard. :interesting:

Very nice silver. Love the SLQ. I haven't found one yet, hopefully soon. Yours is in great shape.
Congrats

That's when I get lucky too.....after searching for hours turning nothing up, about to give up, then BAM! The addreneline gets pumping and you detect for a few hours more only to find nothing. Many of my best finds have been my making it back to the car.
