I was surprised to find this 1862 fatty the other day. I was hoping for the elusive flying eagle when I saw the thick rim, but that one remains to be on my to do list.
I also found these bottles this past weekend, my first dug stoneware beer bottle! It is a Phillip Altpeter bottle ca. 1850-1870.

Congrats on the fattie! Still looking for one of those, along with that elusive flying eagle too. I'm sure there's got to be some around waiting to be found. I really love those bottles too.

Nice fatty. Are the bottles from a dig out? I have always liked bottles with embossing on them.

Well, I've got my Flying Eagle, but alas no Fatty as of yet! Man, those old bottles are really sweet. When I come across an old bottle dump, I immediately turn the detector off and start scratching around. HH!
