Cellar Hole Hunting!

Invited Brian & Danny down to do some cellar hole hunting yesterday. Definitely put on alot of miles, probably close to 8, but the finds made up for that. The first set of pictures are my finds from that hunt. Got a decent handful of buttons, a 1770 KGIII cut into an octagon which was most likely going to be used for a button. Then this morning my Dad and I decided to get out to a site that I found and it turned out pretty good! Got two buttons, half of a late 1600's to early 1700's spur buckle, a very nice colonial wedding band, and an escutcheon plate! Happy father's day everyone!54799548005480154802548035480454805

Robert it was very nice of you and your dad to invite Trooper Bri and I , thank you :notworthy:, you did very well despite the few finds that were around at these sites ( a few of the sites had been plundered by HEAVYMETALNUT and Thiltzy ) . That copper must have some great history to it , with the way the front looks very worn and the back still has good detail. I'm convinced it was going to be turned into an 8 sided dandy button , very neat piece .

Nice bunch of buttons. And that KG3 is an interesting thing. I wonder how they lost it if they hadn't even gotten to put the holes into it to make it into a button.

Looks like you did well this week! Those spur buckles are super rare. I've found three and didn't know what they were until Dan told me this week!:lol: Congrats! :thumbsup01:
