And it came over vast seas and oceans by packet mail. Colourful stamps graced the envelopes and were pleasing to the receiver. Four deities from a far away land inside. The British lad who had sent them had missed the Black Hole of Calcutta only to land in a watering hole in Thailand. A place where a strong liquid spirit could be had for a few baht. The Bluenoser knew he was in a better place.

The icons were placed by the Bluenose ......a shrine for those that dig! A most delightful smiling Buddha, a willowy exotic dancer and two most humble elephants now added to the guarding of the spirit of Nova Scotia.
The digger did pay respect to the shrine and headed out on a most windy of day to a place where children learn. Learn what? The Bluenoser meditated on that thought. This thought could not be grasped by the Bluenoser. Then men flocked to the field. They approached the Bluenoser and asked if it was okay. It was cricket to him!
The wicket was set. The hurler did hurl most fiercely. The batsman did bat with utmost concentration. The Bluenoser did field tennis balls between swings. Life was good. Rewards were found. The crown of respect ,tolerance and empathy did adorn those that dig on this outing!
