Very nice!!!! Lovin' this weather,,,, we'll pay for it in the South when the skeeters regroup.
great finds Todd , especially for late December . Iron shoe buckles I believe are very late in the 18th century as iron would of been difficult to cast properly , I bet that one has a decent design hiding under all the corrosion , it would be a great candidate for some electrolysis .
Hey on another note it was really great to see you again last weekend (its been a while) and again thanks you very much for the opportunity to hunt a field with you Todd , had a very good time !!

Good finds Todd. Does the curved pointy thing have two posts on the back? If so, it looks like a coat tail weight for a men's jacket. These were in fashion from the end of the Revolution up to the start of the War of 1812.

It does have the mounts you mention and so does the long oval piece. I have found them before and thought they are saddle decorations. Do you have any link to what you think they or it is?

Always a bonus if you can still pull colonial in the last week of December in this neck of the woods. Congrats and best of luck in 2016.
