An SLQ was at the top of my bucket list, and it finally happened yesterday! It's a 1923 and it's actually in decent shape but I'm going to keep working on getting that tarnish off (it's not a key date). I guess a flying eagle cent or maybe a capped bust anything is now at the top of my wish list. Happy to get the SLQ before the end of this season and already looking forward to next!

Congrats on the SLQ!! :happydance01: It's not a rare "S" mint, is it? Still a heck of a find. Looks like you got a few other nice finds too. Would be interesting to see if the watch cleans up, maybe get the makers info from inside the cover.

As for a cleaning tip, stay away from the harsh chemical dip cleaners-they will ruin the finish and etch or pit the surface.

great coin. Tough date to be sure. Ant pre '25 is a tough one. Great find WD

Yeah, no it's not an S...I certainly would have mentioned that. Of course my first SLQ is one of THE most common....but I'm not complaining! I already did the baking soda/hot water then toothpaste rub and I was surprised that black gunk wouldn't budge. That process has worked well for me on other coins....hoping this one is not burnt or something.

Excellent find and great to see it has a clear date. Musket-ball and pocket watch are also good. See if you can nab a date on the watch. Lots of those will have maker's marks to help ID them.

Thanks. Yeah, the back of the pocket watch is not there so it's all rust on the inside and back. Nothing to pull any info from, although I have yet to really clean it.

:congrats:0n your 1st SLQ and its a dated one to boot. They are hard to find. I have more Barber quarters than SLQ's.

Congrats on your first Standing Liberty Quarter! It is rare to find a pre-1925 example with a date. I think it looks great just the way it is. Beautiful coin! :thumbsup02:
