NH Musket Ball

Hey everyone,
I'm new to this whole thing but here's what I found yesterday in my backyard! I believe it to be a "buck n load" which is a little musket ball. I also found an oxen shoe about 20 feet from this. Could anyone confirm this to be a musket ball? It's about 1/4" and I believe it to be lead. As you can see in the picture, the right side seems to be a little flat most likely where it was shot. The ball itself is irregular due to being fired. It is definitely not modern or so I think. You never know what you'll find in your backyard! Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Owen

the small lead does look like it has some age to it (lead tends to get a chalky white color due to oxidation) could be a piece of "buck and ball" or a small pistol round . Nice ox shoe too !! we have an ox shoe expert here on the forum by the name of OxShoeDrew , well maybe expert by default (he finds so many !!!) :lol: welcome to the forum by the way , glad you jumped right in here and posted Owen .

Yup I'm with DEL, thanks for posting. Old lead seems to get a white color to it so I think yours has some age to it. Your ox shoe has to be the first one I have seen posted as coming from a members backyard....:lol:. I'm sure oxshoedrew will be chiming in here.

You're way ahead of me owena1...when I found my first oxshoe in my yard it took me a week to figure out what it was.
...and I hope people noticed that I've cut way back on my oxshoe consumption :lol:
