Found my first Indian head penny at a local park yesterday and man did that thrill me. I've been hoping to find silver as the park was dedicated in 1947 but the area has been in use for longer than that but I know its been worked over pretty well by good diggers also. 1905 in good shape

Also finding square nails so keeps my hopes up for other goodies

It really is pretty exciting removing coins from the bucket list. I had only found 1 in 3 years but found 2 this year. Keep digging those goodies!

Great score there-beautiful condition too! I would bet there a lot more in that little town, just have got to find them. Maybe research the town some more under the original name of Granville. Just don't get it confused with what used to be Granville from where I live.

Wish that were the case cheap thrills! I'm getting one silver for every ten rings and one gold for the season. Just not getting the coil over it or just digging the wrong pulltab signals

I will be doing that for sure! Right now just trying to get as many hours swinging as I can before it freezes and deer season coming up is going to take a bite out of my detecting time

Nice. My first Indian was a really cruddy one. Somehow a layer of copper was folded up where the date should be. Part of it was rust colored because it was next to a piece of iron. And it looked fuzzy like concrete efflorescence but it was white and green color. It came from a park. It was great to find one. It took me three tries to get one in nice shape. Luckily #4 was in great shape for being a copper/nickel white cent. Maybe time to start some door knocking?
