There's a spot in downtown that has been a few things through time. In the early 1900's, a house stood, then a laundromat, which was torn down and the parking lot with it was ripped out as well. I detected around there eariler this year, found two mercury dimes and a bunch of wheat cents. I went to a new part where there is lots of brick and glass all over the place. Got a 90 signal right off the bat. Dug it, and it is a super toasted silver quarter! Third one of the year. Next signal was a 79. I pulled at least 5 pieces of iron out of the hole before a small, dime sized disk fell out. The first thing I saw was "ONE DIME." It's a Barber!!!!!!!!!!! It's super toasted, but its my very first!! You can barley see the outline of the head. Then the batteries died in the AT Pro. Bummer. Came back with fresh ones and first find was a crusty 1901 Indian. I am planning to come back to this place soon! Happy Hunting!

I'd say those coins were in a fire. Congrats on your first barber! HH, Dave.

Congrats on the barber. That is some tough soil as all those coins look like salt water find, but silver is silver. Nice hunt. WD

Congrats on those nice finds! I also concur with DaddyDigger, They certainly look "toasted" as in marshmallows toasted!

Congrats on the silver! I agree with the others - they are toasty for silvers. Get some batteries and head back there, I bet there is more.
