40th Copper is a 1788 CONN

After work today I hit a field for an hour and dug what I thought was a dandy button as it was a 78 vdi and slightly larger/thinner than most coppers. After I got the dirt off I could clearly see the CONNECT and the 1788. The silver dime is 1953 (I was hoping it was a 1799 1/2 real ). The buckles just allowed me to post in this section  I can't remember the last time I went out and didn't make a nice find :loveit:
Thanks!
PS I found that hoe with Tim the other day, is that collectable/colonial or just recycle it?

40 coppers !! :notworthy: congrats on the 88 :clapping: hey is that a ram rod guide up top in the first picture

I first wondered that but the top is rounded. Thanks Dan! Is that hoe anything special?

can you show another picture of that top item Drew to show it from the long end ?? its hollow yes ?? the hoe looks like a 1700's era type i usually find , Drew. I keep all the nice examples i find .

Congrats on the copper. You are on a roll Drew! I'd save that hoe and put it in my "some day I will do electrolysis on this stuff" pile.

40 coppers Drew...awesome. You're 38 ahead of me this year so I have some catching up to do in the next few weeks! ;)

40 coppers in 1 season is amazing Drew! You've really killed it this year. Just an FYI there is a penalty for finding any more this year so you'll have to send them to me, LOL!
