Yesterday morning before I went to work I saw that I still had a stack of wheats on my dresser from a hunt I did a couple nights ago. They were still dirty and needed a quick cleaning...I always check to see if I have any early or rare dates hoping to find a good one. I checked them out and noticed one of them was a 1909 plain wheatie. It seemed that it might be in decent shape and so I decided to give it a peroxide bath. I forgot about it until I got home that night. When I pulled it out of the peroxide I could easily see the VDB. I was pleasantly surprised to say the least!
I have found about 12 or so 1909 Wheaties over the past 4 years and this is my first 1909 VDB.
