I didn't know I would get some hunting today until the moment presented itself  so off I went:detecting:
That emoji has the same hairdoo as me  so does that one...sorry.
My foxy friend wasn't there today so I thought I'd be in for a skunking, but not the case.
Although, nothing cleaned up well...the draped is dateless and the IH is 1909. I had already gone over this area of the field but this time I slowed down and listened for the deep ones. The dandy was 10in, the IH was at 7in, and the draped was at 3in, I was saying, "how do I miss these things?"
There is no design on the dandy.:bummer:
36.5 coppers on the year, if it's customary to count half cents. Happy hunting all!

 I had a great target saturday (this was after i had two coppers already) so i waited until i saw Brian to let him hear it , now to me it was almost very coin like except at the tail end of the tones and i was sure it was a coin mixed in with iron . so i call Brian over he goes over it and said it doesn't hit right on the frequencies , he was right it was tin plated iron flashing :shocked05::embarrassed: :lol:

Thanks James, but I've never found anything like a KG3 gold guinea! :notworthy:
Dan, sites with lots of flashing are a drag. Not New Orleans or anything :)

Really nice assortment there-congrats on the great finds!
As for how you "miss" things, I think it's a matter of conditions and angles. I have gone over the same spot in a park a few times from different angles and keep getting new signals-go figure!

You do some serious digging when you get in "some" hunting Drew. Nice assortment of finds! I like that hinge piece.
I love the V3i for it's ability to give me an idea of what metal I'm looking at. But I would have still dug that target too. You never know.

Nice Drew. Yes, I'd say if it is a cut cent then count it as a half being half the coin. The FULL coin that is a half cent I'd count as a LC. You need to show some cleaned up pics. I hate those pieces of flashing you find. It's not something you'd expect to see. AND, the reason you miss targets are because they move in the ground. It depends on the rain and the frost.

Those "lark" finds are the best ! Rivets can drive you nuts. Some sites are thick with them.

Congrats Drew on the good finds and an amazing year. 35 Coppers...I'd love to find 1/2 of that! Been there on the "how did I miss that?" signal after returning to several sites as well. Keep your great season going!
