Have been hunting a few houses in old neighborhood. My mom does plaster restoration for a living (25 yrs now- I'm her helper now and then) & is great for obtaining old houses to hunt...
This particular house was built in 1921, darn if I forgot my camera- it's a neat looking house. I'll be back on Thursday, will have to remember to take it :) I found this silver pocket spill at 3 :happydance01: 1941 & 1945 mercs and a 1942 P wartime nickel.
All of the wheats were 2-3 deep! Years on them are 1918, 1919,1920, 1928, 1934, 1938, 1941, 1947D & 1952 D X2! Total 10 wheats!
The lead soldier is a first for me- I've seen so many on MD forums. Looking forward to learning more about it. The rifle is bent and I'm afraid to bend it back up, but it's bugging me lol think I could solder it  and the base? I wouldn't want to mess it up though...

Nice in to get some private property :clapping: Congrats on the wheats and silver spill. Some of those lead soldiers can be worth some nice cash.

Nice hunt Tana. Thanks for the pics. :)
IMHO...Do not try to solder the soldier. (Try that with a mouth full of cornbread.)
Lead melts at around 325 deg F. Solder is made of lead and tin. Most solder melts slightly higher than 325...somewhere around 350.
I'd be very afraid of ruining the little fella...if it were me.

Nice silver spill... I bet that led to a funky, chicken dance lol even if it was only in your mind ;) Wheats at 2-3 deep lol You could have had a $19.99 toy detector and found those  What a nice change that is from digging them at 6-8. That makes digging a breeze. I hope you get to go back a couple of times at least and find some more silver ... lol

Excellent hunt, Tana! That's quite a haul of wheat cents, with some good old ones in the bunch. Very nice silver spill too!

Thanks for the link! There sure are a lot of 'em out there :shocked04:stretcher: It looks like mine might be throwing his rifle down and saying screw this war! lol Seriously, I'm trying to figure out how his arms and gun might have originally -see what I mean?

Yeah, you're right  thanks! I need to look up your meteorite thread- you do have one around here somewhere now? :eyebrow:

lol The couple that lives there, they thought I was funny. I was acting kinda giddy... just getting OUT to hunt made me giddy! Nice couple, they kept coming out to see how I was doing. She's a true archaelogist :envious: where's the 'I'm not worthy' smiley?
