I hit my first common/town green yesterday just to say I did it :) and after a few hours had a 1946 wheat and a holed 1945 Mexican penny....but this morning it was back to cellar hole basics
The keepers were-Pocket watch back inscribed "John Clayton, London 19553"
Plated spoon "Hall & Elton" (from Geneva NY, dates to early 1840s)
1803 Draped
1843 Seated Dime
Anyone know what that rectangular thing is at center?
Thanks!
PS actually 30.5 coppers, but who's counting

My God Drew, you're killing it! I can't even find me a Colonial Copper, let alone anything else this year. WTG my friend!

Your last week? Now I know why...you had a lot more time that most of us to get out and hit these places. I had the vaca time but I haven't used too much yet. Nice score on the DB. You got lucky with the shape it's in. I wonder how long that seated was in circulation before it was dropped cuz it is worn. Neither rectangular item has to do with buckles? The one at the top center looks like it has a few ornate lines for its design. The absolute middle of the pic has those 4 small holes. Those holes to me look like they would be where something like rhinestones would go. It's the same size as the hair clip I found which had similar holes for stones, but it was oval. I cannot see a hair clip being shaped like yours. But then again....

Either one of those coins would make my decade! The obverse of the Large Cent is in beautiful condition! I've never found a Draped Bust Large Cent, nor a dime that old. That engraved watch part is very cool also, it has to be really old.

You are definitely having the Summer of Dreams, Drew! :notworthy:

Keep it up! :thumbsup02:

Hmmm....That rectangular piece looks very familiar. I want to say it looks like the housing for a small lock, such as the ones embedded in a wood box lid or small chest or drawer. Judging by the slot through the side, I would think that's the opening for the bolt to pass through.
