I went back to hit the same house where I found the silver dimes and the Indian Heads. This time I found several memorial cents and a 1990 nickel. I was getting discouraged after the killer day I had previously. Then I hit on a dime about 5-6" down. Very worn and hard to read but the back said 10 Cents 1887 but the front looked foreign. My son found on the interwebs that it was Canadian. So now my oldest coin is also a foreign coin. And silver I presume.
I'll post a pic in a couple of days.

Google translate says the Latin means QUEEN VICTORIA GRACE OF GOD. Mine is so worn it almost looks like a thin washer.

Great coin. Definitely silver. Like the early Canadian coins but never found one. WD
