A friend introduced me to a fellow at a BBQ party Yesterday.. and was given permission to hunt his 30+ acres which at one time was all fields, then later on was an encampment during the civil war to train soldiers , it was really cool as he has copies of photos showing the soldiers & tents on the property and you can see all the landmarks in the background which still stand today.
Anyways, I just did a quick hunt as I was not prepared for hunting in woods I was expecting fields ( 8/ but during that short hunt at 1.5 I found a 1744 or 1754 british halfpenny.
The owner & were both happy, and told him that I'd clean up the coin and give it to him as a thank you for allowing me on the grounds.. (Im hoping there will plenty more to find) I'll be heading back again tomorrow...

Congrats on the George II half penny. I bet the owner will be real happy to get it. At least you know the property goes back even further than the encampment. :clapping: I hope that place is loaded for you. Can't wait to see what you get out of there next visit. Good luck!!

great half penny :shocked04: Scott that variety is known as the young head profile and was minted before the 1740's so its probably 1734 if you can definately see the last number . congrat again thumbsup01
