Joined up with some of the gang today for a cellar hole tour. They're holes that have been wailed on, but I managed a few finds. Regardless, it's still great to be out there seeing these sites and what everyone finds.

The larger buckle came at our first stop. 6 or 7 inches down next to a tree not far from the hole, and giving me a buttonish tone. Had to dig under a couple big roots to get it. Glad it wasn't junk. The rest came from our next stop. Had to wander away from the site and heard nails again. Maybe a small cabin or shack?

I've never seen small buckles like these. Any idea to the age and what they were for?

I'm happy to find them Dan.
They're the low VDI targets that got passed or missed. The big buckle was around 50 on the V3i, the other three in the nails were nickel tones at best. Low 20's.

Brian, Is that one on the left part of a suspender? I have a buckle just like the left one but have no idea what it's for. Looks like you did well, how'd the others do?

Nice saves! I'd guess that your looking at about 1860-1880's on those finds!
