After supper dad and I decided to head back to our colonial site for an hour or two. Oddly enough we didn't find any buttons, but still did pretty well! I got a little buckle that looks really old, and then dad nailed an Irish Hibernia copper :happydance01:! I then got my own copper, with a KG II :thumbsup01: I got a decent signal a while later which I thought would be a button but instead dug a thimble. Isaac helped me with IDing it, he said it was an open top thimble and research showed that it was possibly colonial! I got a little musketball and that was it for the day. We had fun, this should be our last hunt until we head up to RI! HH!

Any detail on the front of the halfpenny/halfpence? Or just too toast to get a date or a range of dates from the ID?

Thanks for the awesome link! :) I think it's a George II, bust faces left. I'll get better pictures when I get home, the front is pretty toasty though. HH!

That's some serious dinner dessert! Outstanding hunt and pic of overall finds :clapping: You got the thimble bottom, didn't someone just dig a thimble top?

thanks drew!! Yeah, I think somebody did just find one! I found out that Mine is actually supposed to be that way from Isaac! It's called a tailors thimble. The example here is older than mine I'm sure.

Oh and the buckle is definetely period... by the looks it's most likely early 18th c., something most people in the U.S. won't find (including me... yet ;) )
