I'm behind in posting some of my finds. It's not even summer yet and we're busy, busy, busy!
April 1st:
A couple of days after getting back from our Florida vacation I got a invite from Fire Fighter 43 (Jeff) to come back up to Wisconsin to hunt the new camp he's got permission for. So I took the day off work and Ted and I headed out before sunrise and meet up with Jeff at the camp around 8 a.m. We hunted till about 4 in the afternoon with a short little lunch break around noon. I did pretty good finding 6 silvers and a IH! Ted beat us all with 7 silvers. My first silver of the day was a Washington quarter! Gotta love a start like that! No SDHOS! :yahoo:
I ended up with the Washington quarter, 2 Mercs, 2 Rosies, a war nickel, and a IH. Plus a handful of wheats.

April 19th:
I meet up with Digger Don and his son Digger Al. We decided to meet up at a old park in between us. We hunted around there for a little while when we came to a mutual agreement that that park had been hunted to death! So we went door knocking. The first house we stopped at we got a yes. It was a 1860's -1870's house. I popped a wheat the first hole! Which seems to be a curse to me most of the time. Shortly after Al pops 2 silver in a row, then Don pops a Rosie! I had a baseball game to be at by 11 a.m. I was starting to wonder if I was going get a silver out of this yard. Shortly before having to leave I got a 1904 Barber dime, and then 4 feet away I popped a Merc! Boom! No SDHOS!! :happydance01:Right before I had to leave I got a jumpy mixed up signal that turned out to be a buff and a wheat together! :thumbsup01: After that I headed off to my sons baseball game and Don and Al went looking for fresh soil. After the game (which they won by the way.) I called Don and we met back at the first permission. We tried a few other places. Got a couple no's and a couple of no ones homes. So Al was itching to hunt a old farm house. He pulled up Historic Map Works on his phone and picked one out. So we head out. Got a yes. Al had the big finds from there, but I did manage about 5 wheats, a 1896 IH. Shortly after that it started to rain. So we decided to go thank the folks for letting us hunt their farm. As We were making our way up to the door I got a chirp and a 10-44 around 6 inches deep. I said "One more" . As Don and Al watched me dig down out pops a silver dime! I asked them "what do you guys think it'll be?" We each took our guesses and I wiped off the dirt to reveal a Rosie. Then it hit me! I said "I just hit the trifecta boys!" :thumbsup02:
