We started out this afternoon at a house built in the 1890s. I dug a pretty cool skeleton key with nice green patina and a 1952 Rosie. Alec dug a 1917 Merc. We did a couple more small houses, but got nothing but clad and Wheats.

Just as we were leaving town, we spotted a gorgeous old house with a pretty large lawn. We stopped, got permission and started to hunt. I wasn't on the lawn more than 2 minutes, and I got a 12-41 at 8" . I thought I was digging a wheat but out pops a 1964 Washington. I re-swept the the plug and got another 12-41. Ok, now I'll dig the wheat. So I open up the plug, scoop some more dirt out and out pops another 1964 Washington. That's the first Silver quarter spill for me.

About 20 minutes later, Alec got a nice high tone and dug a 1951 Washington quarter. We dug 12 wheats today as well.

It seems like we both got a little reckless with our diggers today.

That's a awful good silver day. If your going to scratch coins '64 washingtons are the ones to knick. Nice Hunts. WD

Don, would that key have been a "blank?" I remember as a kid our house still used those. Not that I'm old:lol: Nice going!

I love when silver looks like the back to that '51. You been gettin a bunch of silver lately. I wouldn't mind if I am being fooled by the reading and out pops a few silvers, but those fooling signals are usually junk.
