I found this on the same farm a few years ago. It`s 2 3/8" in dia. made of brass. The other two buttons were found there to. Any ideas what they are and age ?

Robbie , the large one is definitely not a button but the other two are horse rosettes and based on their looks i'd guess they are around late 1800's to 1920's .

Thanks Dan, I didn`t think the large one was a button neither because it`s flat with no signs of a shank. Maybe a beer coaster?:dontknow:

I like they way you think ;) Is there anything on that disc that indicates it may have been attached to something?

Nope, It`s smooth . (You do know that I`m looking for this old tavern? ) I just thought ,maybe? It`s about the same size.

It looks like the top of a petrified Reese's Peanut Butter Cup!

OK, so we know it`s not a beer coaster or a petrified Reese`s cup . So what else could it be?

Robbie the jagged edge side , does it look pretty random (the edges) or does it look more uniform or evenly spaced points ??

Has it been folded or creased a little bit? From first pic, it shows the most but it looks like slightly bent on an axis from the 10 to 5 position. One side being jagged makes me think it was the bottom of something.

Yes ,It does have a cease,:dontknow:. I did find out more about the history of my area, and it` goes back to 1635, by a man named Adam Shipley.

The points are evenly spaced.
