Alec and I took a road trip down south Sunday and Monday. Sunday we hit a few parks and found absolutely nothing. We decided to call it a day early because I drove most of the night and was tired.
We did door knock one house before we stopped for the day. I dug an 1899 Indian, a couple of wheats and a White glass
"Genuine Boyd Cap" mason jar lid which was in a hole with a wheatie.
Monday morning we decided to make it a door knocking day. There was no one home at first 6 houses we tried. Everyone must have been at work, DUH. We did however, finally got a yes. Alec and I each dug an Indian and a Buff. Alec also dug a 12-21 and pulled out his first 14K Gold ring.
We tried a few more houses, got a no at the first one and then 4 more with no one home. ( note to self, Don't drive 5 hours to go door knocking on a weekday ). Anyway, we decided to cut our losses and head home.
On the way, we drove thru a town with some very old homes. We decided to try one more and got a YES.
The first target I dug was a massive sterling silver United States Air force Ring. I'm not positive, but I think the stone is a sapphire.
Alec Dug a 1963 rosie, our only Silver coin of the trip. BUT WE STILL HAD A BLAST!!!
Great adventure gents! Congrats on the precious metals! :thumbsup02:
I need to make a detecting journey soon...........

Thanks, it cleaned up pretty nice. It was a pleasure meeting you as well. Enjoyed talking with you.
After our talk, it was clear to me why all the parks in the area were void of silver. LOL
Take Care & HH

Nice bunch of finds, guys! Congrats to Digger Al on his first GOLD RING! :loveit: :notworthy:
That huge silver Air Force ring is an awesome find as well! Wow, what a big hunk of silver! :thumbsup02:
The Buffalo on the left is definitely a 1913 as the buffalo is standing on a mound on the reverse.
I hope you guys have some good luck the rest of this week on your spring break! :thumbsup01:
:congrats:

Weird. Second jar lid posted recently. You got the "cat's eyes" thing..similar to what I got. Your's is much smaller tho. The IH are in great shape, as Dan said how envious we are here for that reason. We may be able to get older coins here, but your's seem to be in better shape. Like the ring too. Doubt there's enough information to return that ring tho.

That's one great day and Tony is right on the money with the buffalo being a 1913 Type I with the buffalo on the mound. It's a one year type coin and if you don't already have one it one you can check off the bucket list.

It would be cool if you could find the owner of that ring. His family might be very grateful to have it back. Just my opinion from a old Air Force SSGT.

I absolutely agree. Unfortunately there was no inscription on the ring and the home owner had no clue who it could have belonged to.
