went on a few hour hunt with ron (rcat) today.not much in the finds dept.2 flat buttons and this token. has a reeded edge and still has some plating on it.it's old and just curious if anyone can tell me anything about it? how old? i thought for sure it was a hard times token.almost same size as large cent in pic
it reads MAJ GENERAL WINFIELD SCOTT USA(above bust)
below bust small letters E.W.HAYDEN SC
on reverse at top SCOTT WOUNDED
bottom reads LUNDY LANE
ron got a similiar token but has a ship on each side but has a plain edge and no plating.found 5 feet from mine.
ONE LAST QUESTION DAN & GEORGE?? CAN IT BE COUNTED AS A LARGE COPPER?

very nice token Dave thumbsup01 , it very well could be a political token as he did run for the President's office in 1852'ish but lost to Franklin Pierce but was still a national hero. it counts in my book for a copper
heres a link to more info on the guy

thanks Dan.
here's what buckle boy on TNET told me
.
That's cool that you got an Old Fuss and Feathers token.
I wonder if it's a campaign token of some sort. It could be a GREAT find... I'm going to try and find out something about it.
Very cool that it still has some plating on it.
