Got out a few times this week starting with a short hunt on Tuesday. Only one good signal but it was a nice 1916 Barber dime. Saturday got out for a good 5 hours and had some success. First Park had plenty of clad and 9 Wheaties but NO silver. Second park produced silver on the first signal I dug, a Mercury. Finished the day with a Rosie for a POOR man's trifecta. Some times you have to stretch it a bit. Decided to go out today in some miserable weather but was glad I did. Ground had an 1" of frost from some over night teen temps so I pushed over to a spot that was more thawed. I got a 7-48 signal with good tone but not real solid. After getting the plugged pulled and some dirt removed I picked up a signal with the pinpointer on the side of the hole. I poked out a silver disc that I thought was aluminum or a token. I was a bit shocked to see old Ben Franklin appear. Nice surprise. This is the 2nd one I have found in 4 years and they are both '53 "D". What are the odds of that. Looks like it may have been sitting next to some iron as it was all brown with rust, but a baking soda bath took care of that. All in all a decent week. Thanks WD

I'd still take three dimes later in the design series, as long as they are silver. Nice getting a washington and Franklin as well.

Hey, as long as they're silver it definitely counts as a trifecta!
Congrats on the Franklin Half, that's a really cool find. Really neat that you found 5 silver coins and they are all different types.
:congrats:

WTG on that Franklin, a coin that is on my wish list. I know what you mean about how strange it is to dig the same dates and mint marks. I've dug 2 Barbers halves, both 1894 S. Also 2 two cent pieces both 1865.
