Short After Work Hunt / 2 Penny Spills

Digger Don

New member
I stopped after work today and got permission to hunt a house that was built in the 1890s. I hunted for about 40 minutes and only did the small front yard.

My first good signal, I dug the plug and out popped 3 wheats, I checked the hole again and dug 3 more. Pretty cool, 6 wheat spill. 5 were from the 20s and one was a 1930. about 10 minutes later I got another Wheat signal. This time I dug a 1914 wheat and an 1899 indian. Before I left, I found 2 more wheats.

I also found .96 cents in clad which I gave to the home owners 8 yr. old son. ( He tagged along as I detected )

No Silver Today, But Who Cares, I had Fun and got me an Indian!!

Thanks for reading.

Gahh, too bad for the nick. Did the time off detecting due to snow/cold make you forget the digging technique? Jk. Watch...I'll prob be the next victim of hitting the target. That IH was in really great shape. Still, a few nice spills.

A spill of 6 wheat cents would be a lot of fun to dig, especially when you can date the spill to about 1930. Very cool.

I don't care how long you've been doing this or how careful you are, you are going to scratch a coin once in a while. It just can't be avoided, really.

Congrats on the cool finds, Don! :clapping:
