Friday I went out for a few hours. I only found one wheatie, a 1950.

Sunday we went out to the woods in a park. Went there for about 4 or 5 hours. The first good find was IH #1 of 2015. It's a 1881.
About an hour and a half into the hunt I gotta 12-42 at about 4 1/2-5 inches.

Here's what I seen when I pulled the dirt out of the hole.

Turned out to be a 1892 Barber dime! Also the first silver of 2015!:happydance01:

A few minutes later I got another 12-45 at the same depth  Out comes another nice Barber dime. This ones a 1910D. Second silver on the board! :thumbsup02: Another 15 minutes or so go's by and I get a 12-34 in that same depth range. Bang!!IH #2!

This ones a 1892.

After 5 hours I was getting pretty tired, sore, and hungry! So we started heading for the vehicle. On the way back, while climbing a hill out of the river bottom, I got a strong penny signal about 3 inches deep. Figuring it would be a memorial I dug it up anyways. After searching for it with the pinpointer I finally found this tiny little coin in the mud. It turned out to be a penny from Belgium ! I can't quite make out the date on it. But its a cool little find. It has the monogrammed A for Albert who's rein was from 1909-1934.
The best I can make out it looks to be 1912.

That was an awesome hunt, Tim! Two Indians and two Barber Dimes including a beautiful 1892! :loveit:

That One Cent coin from Belgium is really cool too. I've never seen one like it. Such a small coin. Very nice find!

There are definitely some oldies in that woods. Good job sniffing them out!

:congrats:

Nice. Owe this to the new coil? Bulgaria had the bronze Stotinka starting 1901, guessing yours is bronze.

Opps! I had Bulgaria as the country of origin for this coin:shocked01:
It's actually a coin from Belgium.
After reading your response I had to go back look it up again, and seen I put the wrong country in the text. Opps!
I fixed it now.

Ok. That explains why I didn't find one that looked like your coin. Once I used Belgium, there were a few matches. Unsure from the pic, but it might be 1912. It looks like there is some that flaked off near the end of date. You can obvi see it better with the naked eye than I can with pic. Just the 1912 even had the monogrammed "A" as well and many were avail on ebay.

Nice finds Tim! You had some great results. The 1892 dime was certainly an early drop. Best wishes and HH, Dave.

Those are some sharp looking Barbers. I don't know about you but that deep moist soil sure helps with the deeper coins. Both those dimes would look great in my collection. Thx for posting WD
