Had another good hunt today. We've had really nice weather here recently and the ground has been very soft. Best time of the year to hunt in Tennessee before the ground dries up for the summer and you can't dig without killing peoples grass. :bummer:
So needless to say I'm cranking out the hunts while my spare time allows.
Hit 3 rosies, a nice 1923 merc, a 14K HGE ring (diamond not real), 1945 Canadian cent, 9 wheats (1920 oldest) a commemorative GW medal of some kind made out of pot medal and badly decaying, and a beautiful, old style, sterling ring with turquoise. :)
The find I found most amusing was the beaver tail stamped "aluminum" on it. :hystericallaugh:
I dug tons of clad out of this yard from the 60's/70's too. So a lot of action there over the last 60+ years! I wore myself out in about 3 hours with how many targets were there

Great finds JD!!! Loved watching you live dig those silvers. The "pot metal" looks to be made of pewter. That medallion could be older than you think !

Those are some great finds, JD! As I mentioned on YouTube, I really love that silver ring! It looks like it has some age to it.
Are you still in Tennessee? Man, you are lucky to be able to hunt this time of year. Our ground is still frozen and snow covered, although we did have quite a bit of melting today. Spring can't get here soon enough!
Congrats again on the silver! :clapping:

Hey Tony, yes, I'm still in Tennessee. I have been living in Knoxville for a little over a year now. The only downfall is during the middle of the summer you usually can't land hunt (comfortably) too dry, kills the grass and can be miserable. So the best time to hunt is during the wet winter season. I almost forgot what moist ground was like! I guess every location has it's pros and cons.

We get a month or two of drought here too. I carry around milk jugs of water and water my plugs as I go. It works great, keeps them from dying. As to the hard ground I just develop thick callouses.
