I had a real nice weekend!
Saturday I did the tot lot thing and it paid off with good clad numbers and my first piece of tot lot gold of the year, a small 10k ring with a comparatively large light blue stone. I was worried that the GB might stand for something meant to reflect that the ring is plated but I gave it a good scrape and it would appear to be solid. I also found two old Jefferson nickels in the wood chips, a Presidential dollar, and a whole collection of monopoly pieces. I did some dirt digging too, and managed more clad, and 1964 Rosie, and a silver earing with what looks like a piece of lapis lazuli in it.
Sunday I did more dirt digging and was rewarded with two dateless Buffs, two older Jefferson Nickels, two wheats, a 1942 Merc, and the smallest silver ring I have ever dug... plus of course more clad and oddly enough my first Boy Scout slide of the year.
Total for the weekend was 296 coins worth $27.31, which includes the older coins.
It's worth noting that both pieces of silver jewelery rang up low... the small ring just below zinc penny and the earing well into tab range.
Happy Hunting!
