Recently Recovered Rusty Relics and Roundness

Me and DaddyDigger got together for a few hours this past Sunday for a hunt at a couple of sites. It was a beautiful day weather-wise and the ground was moist and easy to dig.

At the first old park I found 2 Indian Heads, 3 wheat cents and 2 Rosies.

At the second park I found a couple more wheaties and a 1941 Canadian Cent.

Any ideas what this might be? It has a triangular cross section and appears to be nickel plated brass.

Rusty nail....:coffeelaugh:. Again, a nice fistful of keepers. The number of IH's that you recover always amaze me. Me, I'm lucky to get one or two about every month. Detecting at lunch must be a great way to break up a work day. :thumbsup02:

Was thinking the same thing as Timmy about the dime. Nice finds. The IH are looking good. Didn't realize until I saw the caption for the photo about ol' Rusty. The hook.. Not sure what it could be used for. Does the thick end look broken? I was thinking it was a bit large for a candle dipper. The ones now are thin rods but same length. I do figure it was purposely made from triangular shaped brass to make it stronger. Possibly part of antique ice block tongs?

Congrats Tony on all your good finds. The Barber is in very nice condition. Probably dropped in 1899. Having held the large hook item in my hand I can tell everyone it is very well made from high-quality material. Frozen ground this weekend so I will not be detecting. :girlcry:

:thinkingabout: I'm not sure how big one would be but for some reason I was thinking maybe a horse hoof cleaning tool.
But they're usually not hooked so much .:dontknow:
