Hi guys,
I got out today for little while with one of my hunting buddy Tom we went out to an old church that is now nothing but a soy been field. I was there only three minutes before I found my first coin I couldn't believe my eyes when I pulled out in 1805 8 Reales( aka pieces of eight)..SWEET!!!
In the next 2 hours I pulled two large cents 1845 and 1847.. So I think I did pretty good for Ohio...
My finds for the day...

Don , a 2 reale is a large sum of money back then to loose and was often called "two bits"

I'll digger... That's the oldest coin I dug around here.. When you was down we was going after Boy Scout silver...( which I still do).. But now I been doing a lot more Field hunting which is producing alot more older coins... You can come down any Tim!

Very Nice Finds. I have't hunted a field in a while. I think I'll start researching again and give it a go.

That is a wonderful find, Don! Spanish 1 Real and Half Real coins are a little more common, but 2 Reales aren't found very often. That's a nice big piece of silver, and over 200 years old!
