Projectiles And Rusted Iron

Digging around in the old Farm/Park out back I came across some interesting objects.

I believe the bullet is a 22 cal. This is the fourth ball I have found in the area. Although this area is the city now, 175 years ago the farm was carved out of the forest. I suspect hunting meat was a prime source of food back then and the round ball may have been for hunting critters.

The iron whatzits are interesting. The wingnut looking things are about 1 inch long. Probably threaded at one time. The circular buckle looking thing has a diameter of three inch. Not sure what it is, maybe you do.

I do not have a caliper so I had to eyeball it. It just sits within a half inch on my measure tape. As you can see from the picture it's diameter is less than a dime.
