Well this last month has been crazy not much time to go hunting but had about 2hrs last night so I went up to a place I have permission at while I was detecting the owner came out and asked me if I could help him find a couple of his property pins I said sure well I found the one but no success with the other but he was still happy I found the one but anyway I found a nice 1936 Buff and 1918 & 1934 wheat cents and my first target was a junk ring overall I was happy to be out digging HH

Nice finds. Now if you had found the other property pin do you think that you would have gotten silver.....

All he needs is one pin. Once you find one, then he could use the land layout to tell exactly how many feet away from that pin the next two should be.

One of the few buffs with a date. nice.

Finding pins can be hard. I have found many for people, but I used a Schonstedt for the job. Using a regular detector can be a lot trickier, especially if the yard has a lot of trash in it. If he has a surveyor's plan of his property, then all the pins will be marked and the distances will be there also. If you are lucky the GPS numbers may also be on it. But even if the distances are marked on it, the further you travel from the pin, the greater the error rate is. Properties are not always square and the angle you choose to get to the missing pin is critical, if you want to be anywhere near it
