Went to the park today found my oldest coin at this park 1865 Indian Head and the strangest thing is it was only an inch in the ground I could see the rim sticking out of the ground so I'm thinking this means this park hasn't been hit very hard or I just got lucky :lolsign: but i only had about 30-45 min tonight but definitely going back this weekend 40668

Was there recently any renovations done to the park? RobW and myself found a park where they had torn the whole park up and then redistributed the dirt. When we first got there we literally found silvers on top of the ground. Your IH has that nice green look so it looks to me like it had been buried for a while.

:congrats:and get back there soon.

Great job on the Indian. I would definitely get back there and hit slow and hard. Good Luck

And a nice older Indian Head at that! :thumbsup02:

Indian Heads from the 1860s don't turn up too often. I must give you credit for finding it, as I would have surely ignored it thinking it was a modern zinc cent.

:congrats:

Something about breaking into the 1860's and 70's makes you know you have a really nice Indian. It takes a good location to find pre 80's Indians. Nice find. Hope the park is hit lightly.

Great score on the ole Indian :thumbsup02: I once found a seated dime really shallow also which was strange cause all the other coins (even the clad) were much deeper.
