I put the CTX 6 inch coil to the test and it passed with flying colors. This is the take from two hunts at my famous picnic grove. The coins were coming slower with each visit with the larger coils so I decided to work some of the more trashy areas with the 6 inch coil to see what I might have missed. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised at my results. I picked an area that is very trashy but did produce some nice old coins from previous hunts. I worked it really slow digging anything that would repeat in one direction. All of these finds had iron in the hole or in close proximity. Along with the silver I also found 10 wheats. Unfortunately I hit both the Barbers with the Lesche.

That's a nice haul of silver. It's always a nice feeling when you pull some silver from a high trash area. Wisconsin Digger

It takes patience but a shooter coil can really produce in those hard hit parks. Congratulation on your haul!

Very nice results with the 6" coil indeed. That picnic grove of yours is a magical honey hole, Jeff! You have found a truckload of coins there!

Your perseverance paid off with the 6" coil. Nice finds and yes, the Lesche digger is very sharp. I know in the last 35 years there were times I was in a hurry, didn't center quite as well as I should have an paid the price.

I hardly ever take off the 6" coil on the CTX. It is a great coil with very decent depth. I also am pretty happy with the 17" coil as well. As for the Lesche diggers, I use them only when I get into a difficult root or rock situation. I have seen more coins scratched by them and just decided it was not worth it. Great bunch of finds!

Nice finds Jeff. I always use my 5.3 on my V3i and love the way it gets in between all the trash.
