This toy gun was found by me last month and at the request of Lee, I posted it after a good cleanup. no abrasives, just water soaking, soft brushing and cotton rag polishing. Awesome patina and detail. Only the trigger guard is missing. The hammer still locks back and is trigger operated to hit an individual paper cap inserted in the slot in front of the hammer. it is about five inches long so it is made for kids hands. I found an identical gun on Ebay for 25 bucks and it claimed it was from the 50's. Any input? There is no manufacturers name or numbers. Just he word "Texas" in front of the grips and "made in usa" on the right side under the barrel.

Kris, After a quick search I found the following website that has your gun a bit down the page. http://www.nicholscapguns.com/hubley4.htm
I guess some of them were painted to look gold. Is gold paint still on your gun? Nice find.

Heh, Heh, Heh, Texas! I think in Texas it is mandatory for every child to have at least one of those! LOL :coffeelaugh:

Nice find though, sure you didnt find it in an attic?

Just kidding Kris, looks real nice. Great find. To bad you could not find the trigger guard that would have been awesome!

Very cool piece! I used to pack a couple of bad boys similar to that back when I was a lawman of about 5 years old. Quite a few bad guys met their maker around the old home place, if I do say so myself.
