I inquired to a guy about a foundation on his property by leaving him a voice mail. he called me back and gave us the green light to go ahead so,me & Todd were off to a early Memorial Day start .
walking up the old road walls on both sides in anticipation of what lies ahead and after 10 mins the site finally came into view.Love that feeling when walking up to a new site.fields of ferns made for a tough time swinging around the home site foundation.Todd got a very cool token close to foundation.i nabbed a few small buttons.not a ton of targets so,we feel somebody was here before us.
We decided to cross the dirt road and hop over the wall into a huge wooded field and try our luck there.no ferns!
way down in back of the field i got my 1st copper.a toasted draped bust Large cent.at that time todd had yelled he got a draped bust too.
up near the wall on a hill i nabbed my 2nd copper, walked down to show todd it was a crusty 1813 classic head.i just started swinging around field not thinking to go back up to where I just dug that coin:shocked01:
so after like a half hour i end back up there and bam like a foot away i get another good signal, another copper.yell to todd got another one.stand up take another step, another good signal:shocked03: another copper, then out pops a large coat button, another swing, coat button.you can hear the iron all in this area, then another copper more buttons and a 5th copper came out.by this time i called todd up and we just started opening holes up using pin pointer to pull iron and re scan with detectors.no more coppers but plenty of buttons all in like a 10 foot radius.so weird why all these targets were all in this little area.maybe they tossed some clothing and had the coins in the garment? one will never know.
the coppers are a 3 draped bust large cents, only one with date of 1801,1 classic head LC dated 1813,2 King George's one looks like 1740? all in kinda rough shape but it was exciting.
Todd got some great coins too,i'm sure he'll be posting soon

Man that is a boatload of great finds. Good job of sniffing out that small area. It is amazing how sometimes the finds seem to be concentrated in one area....you guys get an official "Done Good"!

Great set of finds for sure. Great to change tactics (i.e. move across the road) and find success.

Needless to say, great finds. My question is, how did you know about the foundation in the woods? Old maps? Aerials from online?
