I drove out to the hill towns today and did some door knocking. 1st house a nice older gentleman answered the door, did my speech and he said he did not mind.
It was a small yard and after doing the front yard (there was no backyard) all I had was two wheat's and some clad. Something is wrong here.....changed programs to hi-trash and went real slow.
The Barber quarter (1900) was the 1st silver and its in pretty good shape, full liberty. Hope the picture does it justice. About a foot away I got the rosie (1953d). Ended with two more wheat's.
Went up to the house again and thanked the gentleman for the opportunity.
Thanks for reading and HH

Wow! That Barber Quarter is absolutely gorgeous, Al! :loveit:
It is in amazing condition! Virtually no wear on it at all.
I still haven't found any quarters besides Washingtons yet this year. :bummer:
Congrats on the awesome day! :perfect10:

Nice finds. The Barber is in awesome shape and probably worth way more than melt! I've decided to go with the door-knocking strategy this year instead of parks. Finds seem better in the yards. Congrats, Dave.
Nice finds there! Congrats, silver is always welcome in my book!
:congrats:

Actually it was your post with the 10 silvers that got me motivated to do some door knocking.
I went on line and used a photo grade website and it is definitely xf+

Todd the house has to be turn of the century. I really wanted to do the house next door which looks like to be the original farm house but nobody was home.

Hey ! Just saw your 1900 Barber Quarter . Nice find !! They come up in nice shape, huh ? I remember finding my one and only 1892s !! I freaked out when I saw the s . I just stared at it until it sunk in that I had a Key Date .
